Date For CWG 2010:
The scheduled date for this esteemed sport event is from 3rd October to 14th October 2010. Our country has won the opportunity to host this event by defeating Canada by 46 votes to 22 at the CGF General Assembly held in Montego Bay in November 2003.

The logo has spirals at the upward direction which symbolizes rise of India as a global power and showcasing its evolution from a traditional country to a modern nation. The diverse and vibrant culture of India and its people are symbolizes by the colors of the logo. Apart from this each part of the logo symbolizes India's heartiest welcome to the 71 countries belonging Commonwealth groups.
“ Come Out and play” is the slogan for the 2010's Common Wealth Games.

In last Common Wealth Games which was held in Melbourne in Austarlia, India has secured the fourth position. So, its a golden opportunity for Indian to conquer the entire world.
Venue For CWG 2010:
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi is the chosen venue for the opening and closing ceremony of the Common Wealth Games 2010. It is also the venue for the Athletics, lawn bowl and weightlifting.
Dhyan Chand National Stadium for hockey, Indira Gandhi Arena for Archery, Cycling, Gymanstics and Wrestling, Delhi University Sport Complex for Rugby 7s, Tyagaraj Sports Complex for Netball, Siri Fort Sports Complex for Badminton and Squash, Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range for shooting, Talkatora Stadium for boxing, SPM Swimming Pool Complex for Aquatics, RK Khanna Tennis Complex for Tennis and Yamuna Sports Complex for Table Tennis are the selected venue for various sports competition of Common Wealth Games, 2010.
Games Village For CWG 2010:
To provide housing facility to the 8,500 participating athletes and officials of these afore mentioned nations, Delhi Development Authority(DDA) has constructed a new and modern Games village. This built near the famous Akshardham temple along the east bank of the Yamuna river and stretches over an area of 63.5 hectare. A hefty amount of USD 230.7 million has been spent by the Delhi Government in its construction.
Impact On Indian Tourism Industry:
Common Wealth Games, 2010 is assumed to have a great impact over the Indian tourism industry. As this mega event will attract thousands of sport lovers to India. It is likely to be believed that around two million foreign tourists and 3.5 million national tourists from different corners of India would come to Delhi to watch the Common Wealth Games 2010. This in turn will aid in the hospitality and transport sector which are the major constituents of Indian tourism industry.
